VentasPlaya.com is a guide to Playa del Carmen and the Riviera Maya. We recommend places, tours and products, and when we link to third-party services we may earn a commission for referring users. We do not provide those services and we take no part in bookings or purchases.
This site does not build databases of its visitors, does not ask you to register, has no forms, and does not sell or share information with anyone.
What information is collected
When you browse the site. We use Google Analytics to measure how many people visit and which pages they read. It collects browsing data in aggregate: pages viewed, time spent, device type, approximate country or region, and where you arrived from. It does not let us identify you by name.
When you click a recommendation link. Some of our links carry a tag that tells the merchant you came from here, so the commission is credited to us. That tag is managed by the affiliate programs (Amazon, AWIN, GetYourGuide) through their own cookies, subject to their privacy policies. We do not receive your purchase details, only commission reports.
If you write to us. We do not ask for personal data. A business that wants to be considered only needs to tell us its name and where it is, which is public information, and we go and see it ourselves. Anything sent to vive@ventasplaya.com is sent by whoever chooses to send it, stays in an email inbox, is not loaded into any system, is not shared with anyone, and is not used to send marketing or for any other purpose.
How the site is funded
VentasPlaya is free to read. It is supported by affiliate commissions: if you book a tour or buy a product through our links, the provider pays us a percentage. The price you pay is the same with our link or without it.
As an Amazon Associate we earn from qualifying purchases.
No local business pays to appear in our rankings or to hold a position in them.
How to disable cookies
You can block or delete cookies from your browser settings. You can also install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on. The site works the same if you disable them.

Once you leave VentasPlaya for another page, this notice no longer covers you. Each site has its own rules and it is worth reviewing them.
